About the Owner
Hi, I’m Brittny Dartt! I’m a local Vermonter, wife, mother, bonus mother and fur mama. I originally grew up in Colchester and moved back about six years ago.
Baking has been my passion ever since I was a child when I would experiment with recipes with my parents and siblings as test subjects. Today, some of my happiest moments are spent in the kitchen passing that love of baking down to my daughters. Every treat I make is baked from scratch, right here at home, with plenty of love and a touch of Vermont warmth.

What’s with the name?
The name of the bakery is made up of two of my nicknames. Growing up my mother always called me Bright Eyes and the Bumble comes from the nickname Bee.
What is a Cottage Bakery?
Cottage bakeries are typically home based bakeries that sell shelf-stable products created in a private or commercial kitchen that is not inspected by the Vermont Department of Health.
Vermont offers a license exemption for most cottage bakeries as long as they complete required training, submit sample menus, follow basic food safety guidelines and have gross income less than $30,000.
Bright Eyed Bumble Bakery LLC is licensed and is on record with the Vermont Department of Health as a cottage bakery with an approved exemption.
